Black In America | “The Black Woman & Family”
I am so glad that this is being done in a time that doesn’t coincide with Black History Month like most reflections of the state of Black America. CNN has produced a ground breaking documentary showing the progression of blacks in America since the assasination of Martin Luther King Jr. The documentary is called “Black in America” and tomorrow it continues with an exploration of Black Women & the Black Family. Soledad O’Brien will explore the hurdles encountered by black women and their families like single parenthood, HIV/AIDS, the strides we have made in the workplace and our acsent to the middle class.
It’s about time we get past the talking heads, perception shapers and hear about the Black American experience straight from our mouths with all it’s diversity. Check out Black In America: Black Women & Families Wednesday, July 23 at 9 p.m. eastern standard time.
I’ll be watching, will you?
